Drs. Farhoumand and their staff care about your safety and work hard to prevent the spread of infection
We have always complied with strict OSHA-mandated protocols to maintain a highly sterile environment within our dental office. These guidelines were created to safeguard against the spread of severely contagious diseases such as tuberculosis and measles, and they are equally effective in managing the spread of influenza and coronavirus.
What have we been doing to ensure our patient and employee safety?
Farhoumand Dentistry has invested in both PAX-2000 extra oral suctions to be used during your dental visit and the new Active Pure Technology, technology originally developed by NASA for Space!
ActivePure® is the only air cleaning technology awarded the prestigious Certified Space Technology seal by the Space Foundation. This proprietary Technology is the only Certified Space Technology that works to continuously clean and protect air and surfaces 24 hours a day and was used to purify the air post 9-11 at the Pentagon. The ActivePure Technology disinfection system is the safest, fastest and most powerful surface and airpurification technology available that minimizes recontamination and cross contamination in real time without the use of chemicals or ozone.
We recently went thorough OSHA training and we have implemented strict COVID health care protocols that are in compliance with the CDC and ADA recommendations.
All magazines and the water dispenser have been removed from the waiting area and the front door will be left ajar so to prevent touching of unnecessary surfaces.
Workers Health Screening
Drs. Farhoumand and all of their employees are being assessed and monitored on a daily basis prior to starting each work day and a strict unforgiving health policy is being enforced.
Everyone has been strictly required to practice social distancing.
Patient Health Screening
Prior to treatment, all patients will be asked to answer a COVID-19 screening questionnaire and their temperatures taken.
Patients who are experiencing possible COVID symptoms (fever, cough, headache, sore throat, chills, nausea, vomiting and difficulty breathing, loss of smell and taste), or patients who have returned from travel to a country with a CDC Level 3 Travel Health Notice in the past 14 days- will be asked to reschedule their appointments.
Social Distancing at the office
Our patient appointments are spaced apart, allowing us to attend to each patient separately and assure minimal contact.
Patients will be asked to stay in their car until we inform them to come up via text or phone call.
Our spacious office is perfectly suited for “social distancing” as the operatory rooms are distant from each other.
No companions are allowed to come into the office with the patient. If a parent must accompany the patient, they should also wear a mask.
Patients are required to wear a mask when coming into the office.
We ask that you take your temperature at home and to expect to have it taken again at the front desk. If temperature indicates a fever, you will be rescheduled.
Before seating, you are required to wash hands for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizers. Please use your elbows to turn on and off the faucets.
Swish with a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution for 1 minute prior to being seated.
Patients will be asked to complete necessary paperwork and pay for copayments ahead of time either on line or by phone.Receipt will be emailed to patient. Bring a pen in case you need to sign paperwork in the office.
And lastly, wash hands prior to leaving our office.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Sterilization Procedures
Drs. Farhoumand and their staff will use PPE as a routine, including: KN95 Masks, Level 3 Masks, Gloves, Protective Gowns, Eye-protective Wear, Face Shields, Shoe Covers and more. These items are discarded between patients or sanitized and disinfected to mitigate any patient-to-patient transmission. There will be a $5 charge per patient visit to cover the cost of PPE materials.
- Frequent hand washing using soap and water is being implemented, according to CDC regulations.
- Strict surface cleaning and disinfection are being enforced in each operatory room and common areas.
- All dental instruments are thoroughly cleaned and packed in individual sterile pouches before being heat sterilized in steam autoclave machines.
- We use only distilled water for our machinery and perform weekly spore tests on our Autoclave machine, ensuring perfect performance for each cycle of sterilization.
