Dr. Sanam Kheirieh began her journey in dentistry by earning her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in Iran in 2005. She worked as a general dentist for six years, during which she developed a passion for research and advanced dental care. Driven to specialize further, Dr. Kheirieh pursued her specialty in Endodontics at the University of Maryland, where she also earned a Master's degree in Biomedical Science.
Her academic achievements are complemented by her contributions to dental research, particularly in endodontics and dental materials.
Dr. Kheirieh has authored numerous publications with nearly 500 citations and has presented her findings at major scientific dental conferences. In recognition of her innovative work, she received the prestigious Sherril Ann Science Endodontic Research Fellowship Award in 2015 for her groundbreaking research on "Nanogel-Based Scaffold In Endodontics."
With her extensive knowledge, clinical expertise, and passion for research, Dr. Kheirieh continues to set a standard of excellence in endodontic care. She has administered numerous endodontic cases—simple and complex—with remarkable outcomes. For Dr. Kheirieh, saving teeth through endodontics is more than a career—it's her true calling. With her patient-centered approach and gentle techniques, she transforms what many perceive as daunting dental procedures into a stress-free and positive experience.
As a dedicated professional, Dr. Kheirieh is an active member of several esteemed organizations, including the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the American Association of Endodontics, the International Association of Dental Research, the American Dental Association, and the Endodontic Penik Study Club.
When not in the office, Dr. Kheirieh spends time with her husband, who is also a dentist. Together, they cherish time with their young daughter and two playful dogs.
